If Your Friends Jumped Off A Bridge, Would You? (120 x 60 cm) Beet juice, ink, water, oil and acrylic on baby blanket
This painting was the first canvas I ever stretched. It start off as an experimentation with plant dyes as I made a beet juice solution. I soaked my socks in it and danced on the blanket in a park. I proceeded to dip my toes in ink and make dots across the canvas. It wasn’t light-fast so the beet juice faded. During a grieving period, I began to paint my memories with the moon I had made the previous summer. They included a super moon, stars so bright the stars reflected in the water (that I later jumped into from a 30 ft high bridge) and then following a super blood moon down a highway on my journey home.
